It's the Kentucky Fair, Y'all!

Louisville does many things great, but the fair has to be one of them! It's the largest fair I have ever seen! We recently enjoyed our fair share of carnival rides, fried girl scout cookies, and $8 sodas.

I LOVE double dates!

Just enough tickets for a Ferris wheel ride.

The sun was setting and the lighting was perfect! The creative director in me wanted to line everyone up and start snapping photos, but I held back and enjoyed the evening like a normal human, haha.

The Ferris wheel is something I hadnt experienced in years, and I had forgotten how high it went. As a kid it was my favorite part of the fair, but this time I was so nervous and thought I was going to be sick!

D and I have decided to stay in Louisville for one more year, and we look forward to visiting the fair again next year! Next time, we'll totally check out the donut burger!

Before I die.

Yesterday, Derich and I decided to do some exploring around Louisville. We found delicious tacos, gorgeous antique stores, but what really caught my attention was the Before I die wall in the NuLu district. We walked up to this wall, grabbed a piece of chalk, and filled in the blank.

After a few minutes of reading the responses on the wall, my perspective changed completely. I had written down what I wanted to do before I died, but looking at what was important to other people really moved me. How often did I think of what life was like to the person in front of me in line? Almost never.

I get so caught up in what kind of world I want to live in, that I forget the world that I actually live in. Seeing this wall helped remind me that we're all sharing the world. There's room for all of our dreams! If we take a minute to get out of our head and into someone else's heart, I have confidence that this world is going to be just fine.

If you want to find a wall near you, create one in your community, or simply just learn about this inspiring  movement; Click Here

Until next time darlings.

My very own Dream Team!

Every now and again, you find the perfect shade of lipstick or those skinny jeans you can't imagine living without. I'm thankful enough to have all the above, as well as the most amazing dream team!

Shanna McAfee and I met several years ago in a mall in a small city called, Jensen Beach. I was 17 and a barista at Starbucks, and she was a few years older and the manager of a clothing store. Every single morning she ordered an iced venti soy mocha-with 2 sweet and low- and we briefly chatted while I served her the usual beverage. It's amazing to think that after three life-changing-moves, a wedding and several years later, she's not only my mentor, but my best friend.

Jamie Graham and I met in passing or in multiple groups of friends for years. The town we grew up in was very small, so we always knew of the other. When I moved home from Nashville, she took me out for a drink for my birthday and we have been inseparable since! With a love for fashion, food, and puppies; we're 100% heterosexual life partners. Even after moving 2,100 miles away, she is still my biggest supporter and best friend.

SO NOW YOU'VE GOT THE BACK STORY....

Let me show you the fruit of our friendship!

More photos, collaborations and adventures to come!

My store opens tomorrow night (08-09-13) at 11pm! Be the first to check out all my goodies... including this stunning black dress!

Stay tuned darlings!

How do you sport your LBD?

The Little Black Dress (or LBD) is every girl's best friend. Not only is the dark color sleek and slimming, you can use texture to show your personality! It's the perfect go-to outfit when you're bloated, tired, excited, casual or dressy! Unsure what to wear? Throw on your LBD and let your imagination take it from there!

I've chosen a basic LBD, and demonstrated how you can sport the same dress 4 different ways. The possibilities are endless!

How will you wear your LBD this season?

What's your style? How will you accessorize your Little Black Dress this season?

I can't wait to see y'alls response! It's date night, so I've gotta run to put together a LBD look of my own!

Until next time!

How to update your fall wardrobe with two easy essentials!

It's the first week of August, and that means it's beginning to feel more and more like fall! School is back in session, it's 69 degrees when you wake up and most retailers are already starting to move their merchandise around for Autumn! Before you put away your summer favorites and buy a new wardrobe, I'll show you a few ways to utilize two easy accessories for Fall!

Fall Essential 1: BOOTS

Summer dresses can easily transition into fall when you add a pair of boots! Simple colors are best, but patterend dresses can also transition well. Be sure to avoid patterns and styles that are season specific; for example, tropical floral patterns, high-lo dresses that are summer specific, etc...

When choosing a boot, almost any boot will do! Show your style with a high heel boot, a flat boot, a riding boot, an ankle boot, a lace up boot, a zip-up-the-side boot, etc... In Fall, all boots are created equal!

Fall Favorites (Part 1)

Fall Essential 2: SCARVES

Alright, alright, so maybe it's not cool enough for a scarf yet. Who was it that said, "no pain, no gain"? Wearing a scarf on a sunny 85 degree day isn't pain, but it's worth the sweat if you look fabulous, right ladies? Below, I've listed a few essential colors and patterns that will transition from summer to fall, and from fall to winter. Neutrals are safe purchases because they're more versatile and can be paired with a graphic, a woven, a simple sweater, or layered with a coat! Feel free to spice things up and pair a bold pattern with a bold graphic. Personal style is all about that... being personal. Let your personality shine this season, and use a scarf to aid you in the process!

Fall Favorites (Part 2)

That's all for today darlings! I hope you found this useful. If you have any style questions or posts you'd like to see; please comment or email me and I'll be sure to feature your question!

Photo Update!

Hi pretties!
I finally received a few additional photos from the first part of the Spring Collaboration (Part 1) that I did in April. Even though it's the end of July, these gorgeous photos are still so fun to gawk at! Jamie looks so fierce!!

I've put a lot of time into starting my store. I decided to try a storefront with Storenvy versus Etsy for a multitude of reasons; the biggest being the amount of control I have over everything.

It's still a work in progress, but feel free to check out my store!

I hope this finds you well.

Sweet Summertime!

Summer is such a familiar season. Growing up in Florida, where I'm used to high levels of humidity, mosquitoes, copious amounts of hours playing in a pool or slip 'n slide, and temperatures soaring above 90 degrees; experiencing this in Louisville makes it feel more like home. This weekend, a group of friends and I got together and decided to experience all things summer... INCLUDING FIREWORKS! We were a few weeks belated the fourth of July, but it was quite an adventure nonetheless. Here are a few photos of our adventure!

I hope this post finds you sun-kissed, glowing and enjoying the outdoors!
Happy sweatin' y'all.

Spring Collaboration: Part 1

The last shoot I did in Florida, I had the pleasure of working with Shanna while she was in town for her wedding. (You should totally check out her site if you haven't already!)
I started working on my brand and figuring out who I wanted my audience to be. What kind of woman would I like to shop at my store?
I realized that I wanted the dreamers.
In turn, I put together a few beautiful editorial styled outfits that I thought fit my brand very well. Here's a sneak peak. As always, the rest will be posted as I receive them.

If you would like to collaborate, please email me here!
I hope these photos inspire you the way that they inspired me.

Life in Louisville!

Upon arriving, we learned that Louisville is pronounced no other way than "Looavull". Having lived in Nashville, I had heard the correct pronunciation several times, but this was a whole new ball game for Derich. "Lewisville" and "Looeyville" were other pronunciations people in Florida would say when they asked how our move was.
It's been about 5-weeks since we moved here and we are settling in very nicely. We are only 4 hours away from Shanna and Mark who own Peppermint Wind Photography, so there will be many more collaborations coming your way!
I have spent a lot of time drinking Iced Americanos from Highland Coffee and adventuring around the city. I found an amazing architectural salvage shop and spent an afternoon photographing the beautiful things that I saw. Here's a sneak peak of my adventure last week, and I'll be sure to post more photos of my upcoming adventures!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer! The weather has been beautiful, but I have to say that I'm looking forward to my first autumn in my new city.

A shoot of my own!

The first week of April, Derich and I did a shoot together. It was so incredibly amazing to be in front of the camera instead of behind the scenes. We did this shoot after we did a shoot with a few other girls, so I was a bit exhausted and sweaty. I've become so adapt to getting my models ready, that it was hard for me to relax enough to be photographed! Again, I worked with my trusty photographer, Shanna from Peppermint Wind Photography, and she is so talented!

In other news, we are Louisville bound tomorrow!!

Derich received a promotion with Urban Outfitters, so we are headed up there to make a new home for ourselves! It was a bit of an impulsive/ hasty move, but we're up for the challenge! Jack and I will be driving my adorable bug and Derich will be following us in the U-Haul. Somehow, I always find myself involved in a new adventure... I wouldn't have it any other way.

Florida to Kentucky, here we go!
Wish us luck.

Florida to Colorado!

The past 7 days, I have been on the road, and what an adventure it's been! Driving from West Palm Beach, FL to Denver, CO was 2,200 miles! Thank the Lord for Dramamine! I was able to stop in Nashville for an afternoon, visit my brother in Wichita, and drive through St Louis. My mother is now all moved into her little townhouse here, and the mountains have their own kind of beauty to them. Growing up on the ocean, I think Mom will definitely have withdrawals, but she'll grow to enjoy the scenery out here.

In other news, I found out that Derich and I will be moving to Louisville, KY instead of Miami. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS NEWS! I love Miami, but it wasn't a place I wanted to live. Now that we'll be in Louisville, we'll be two hours away from Nashville, and four hours away from Shanna at Peppermint Wind Photography! I foresee many photo-shoots in the very near future!

Here are a few photos from my journey. I apologize for the quality, but I'll be getting a new phone very soon.

Wishing you all well.

B

Luut Gear!

You know what makes me happier than new inventory? A wonderful photographer to photograph them! I have been so crazy busy with shoots, and life, that I haven't had a chance to post.

Here's a sneak peak of the shoot I helped on with Brian Storey and Jamie Graham! Jamie is modeling LUUT GEAR clothing. What a fun shoot!

I'll post more as soon as I receive them.
I hope you're all well.
